Product Description:

Meoded Lime Wash Undercoat is a water-based, premium quality primer intended to be used with Meoded Lime Wash. This primer seals the substrate, providing a dense barrier between acrylic paints or other coatings and Lime Wash. Lime Wash Undercoat is also suitable for use a general purpose primer and works well when transitioning from oil based paints and enamels to water-based coatings. This undercoat is necessary to use with Lime Wash because the barrier it creates keeps the active lime at the surface and allows mottling to occur.

Meoded Lime Wash Undercoat is very similar to our Meoded Quartz primer. While Quartz primer has the feel of 220 grain sand paper, Lime Wash Undercoat has a smooth texture.

Lime Wash traditionally has a very light, sandy texture, partly due to the Undercoat. However, if more texture is desired, undiluted Meoded Quartz primer may be used.

Meoded Lime Wash Undercoat is produced using only the highest quality ingredients.

• Preparation:
  • Lime Wash Undercoat should be applied after all flaking paint, dirt, grease, oil, or any other undesirable substances are removed from the surface and sanding is complete.
• Application:
  • Lime Wash Undercoat should be used to spot prime any patches or repairs, then 1 to 2 coats should be applied uniformly by brush, roller, or sprayer.
  • Surface will be touch dry in 1 to 2 hours, recoat in 4 to 6 hours.
  • Stir thoroughly before and during use.
  • Lime Wash Undercoat may be diluted up to 15% for sprayer use.

• Tinting: Lime Wash Undercoat may be tinted; however, it is typically applied white.
• Coverage: Meoded Lime Wash Undercoat will cover approximately 300 to 400 square feet of coverage per gallon, depending on surface texture and porosity.
• Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Do not take internally.
