Waterproofing for Concretta (Wall Applications)

To waterproof Concretta plaster in wet & humid areas such as showers, apply 3-4 layers of PlasterGuard Sealer using a foam roller. Once the final coat of Concretta has cured for at least 72 hours, roll on the first layer of PlasterGuard diluted with 20% water. Let dry for 1-2 hours. Then apply 2-3 more layers of PlasterGuard full strength, no dilution using a foam roller.

Dry time between each layer is approximately 1-2 hours.

Allow the final coat to dry for at least 24-48 hours before using the shower. If any water penetration is seen after the 3rd coat, apply another layer of sealer.

Waterproofing for Concretta (Floor/Countertop Applications)

To waterproof the Concretta plaster on any floor/countertop surfaces, use a foam roller to apply 1 layer of PlasterGuard diluted with 20% water. Dry time is approximately 1-2 hours. Once it is dry, roll on 2 layers of Meoded PlasterSeal Plus using a foam roller.

PlasterSeal Plus is a urethane sealant. This 3- part component sealer has a 1-1.5-hour dry time. Roll on the first layer, wait 50 minutes, and apply the second layer with AntiSkid additive (for floors only) before the sealant mix has dried out. Let it dry for 24 hours, and the floor/countertop is ready for use

Shower Application – Once all sealants are applied and dried, apply a clear caulking/silicone where the walls meet the floor, and around all fixtures. Apply only when the surface and air temperatures are between 50°F and 95°F. Do not apply under high humidity or if rain is expected within 24 hours.
