Application

Preparation – Make sure to let the Concretta plaster cure for at least 72 hours before application. Prior to applying, ensure that the surface is clean of any loose, flaky particles.

Mixing – Totally mix Part “A” by mixing with a drill and dispersion blade. Pour Part “A” (resin) and part “B” (catalyst) into a mixing pail. Blade stir with a drill or stir with a mixing stick for 5 minutes at low speed to minimize air entrainment and internal heat. Work pail walls and bottom well, the mix must be totally blended. Wait 15 minutes. This is the induction time to start the reaction. Add the bottle of deionized water. Blade or stir mix again for 1 to 2 minutes at low speed. You now have about 60-90 minutes potlife. Apply two layers with a foam roller before potlife expiration. Apply with a foam roller, or an airless sprayer at lowest pressure with a 6-15 or a 6-17 nozzle and 100’ to 150’ of hose.

Waterproofing for Concretta Floor/Countertop Applications

To waterproof the Concretta plaster in areas such as floors & countertops, apply a layer of PlasterGuard, and two layers of PlasterSeal Plus on top. Dilute the layer of PlasterGuard with 20% water for optimum penetration and apply with a foam roller. Let it dry for a minimum of 1-2 hours. Mix all 3 parts of the PlasterSeal Plus in accordance. Mix Part A and B together for approximately 5 minutes.

Using a foam roller, roll on a thin first layer, wait about 50 minutes and roll on the second layer before the 3-part mix dries out. For floor applications, it is recommended to use an AntiSkid additive. (1 bottle is for 1 gallon) Let the final layer dry for 24-48 hours. If applying on shower floors, apply a clear caulking/silicone over all edges where the wall meets the floor and around all fixtures. Once the caulking/silicone is dry, the shower is ready for use.

Roller Application

Best to use a foam roller. If a foam roller isn’t available, a short nap roller (3/16” or max 1/4”) can be used by skilled applicators. Visually measure off an area about 4’ x 4’. Load roller and create a “V” or “W” in the above area. Do not pour product onto surface. Working in a pull and push mode away from you and towards you. Quickly spread the material. Work with a free hand. The idea is just to spread the material evenly. Lightly back roll. Do not overwork Repeat the above adjacent to the first area, overlapping the new “V” or “W” slightly onto the old. You want to work very fast so that the overlaps are wet to wet. You want the look to be foggy/hazy like non fat milk, never white. If there are any white spots from drips or too heavy application, immediately roll out.
